It all started with a missionary in the jungles of Bolivia, South America...
Well maybe not the jungle but at least a city in Bolivia
(it sounded good). |

This missionary was approached by a local businessman in
the cell phone industry wanting to purchase used cell
phones in
large volumes. Our missionary
saw this as a possible avenue to fund part of his work in the country.
That’s where we came into the picture…
Our missionary friend said to us, “Where would I get used cell phones?”
Wanting to help, we set out on a fact-finding mission into the neighborhood.
To tell the truth, we sent our teenagers. Door to door they went for hours asking for used cell phones
for charity and giving each donor a tax receipt for their gift of a phone.
Boy were we surprised at the response! They came back with piles of used cell phones! |

Ok, this was serious now. It required a meeting. Out of this meeting CellFund was
born. We realized that this concept could help all sorts of groups, so we figured
what better idea than to make it a win-win situation for everyone. CellFund
could be a fundraiser for groups, raising money for their projects without ever asking
for money.
Missionaries like our friend in Bolivia are helped and the environment is cleaned
up.
Well, that was tens of thousands of used cell phones ago. Today over 3,300
groups are registered with CellFund to benefit their organizations.
Started by missionaries, The CellFund Program is now owned and operated by ReCellular, Inc.
Since a middleman is no longer being paid, your organization benefits with double prices.
More than ever, CellFund is now releasing much-needed funds to fundraising organizations.
